| Abstract: In this article, the effects of thermal radiation and absorption of radiation on MHD oscillatory flow of an optically conducting thin fluid in an asymmetric wavy channel filled with porous medium are studied. Based on some simplifying assumptions, an analytical solution of the governing equations for fully developed flow is obtained in closed form. The influence of various flow parameters on concentration, temperature and velocity distributions are analyzed and illustrated graphically. The expressions for skin friction, the rate of heat and mass transfer coefficients at the channel walls are derived, discussed numerically for different physical parameters and exhibited in tabular form. This study is carried out as oscillatory flows in a porous medium have a wide range of applications in Science and Technology and also convection in a channel in the presence of thermal radiation has its importance in many practical applications. The purpose of this research is to obtain a better understanding of the flow instabilities and heat transfer in wavy passages so that design guidelines may be developed. |
