| Abstract: In this paper inverse Gaussian apodization is applied to fibre Bragg grating to get a narrow reflection bandwidth in the range of 0.2 nm to 1.2 nm. The design is based on the couple mode theory (CMT). The simulation is carried out in MATLAB code based on transfer matrix of the CMT by tuning the phase chirp of the refractive index modulation profile. The purpose of the research work is to analyze the effect of phase chirp tuning on parameters like bandwidth, reflectivity and side lobe in order to characterize the FBG for various applications including Fiber Lasers, WDM Filters, Isolation Filters, Raman Amplifiers, Temperature Sensors in Passive Optical Networks |
