| Abstract: In today's industrial landscape, it is crucial to view production and construction systems, including the design and construction of mechanical presses, as interconnected rather than in isolation. Engineering subsystems increasingly overlap, reflecting this integration. It focuses on the design and construction of a mechanical press, which includes components such as die sets, upper and lower shoes, guide posts, guide brushes, punch plates, pressure plates, piercing punches, stripper plates, die blocks, guide strips, support springs, stop pins, and rams. The stop pin halts the incoming workpiece, while the piercing punch and blanking punch perform essential functions in shaping and finishing the workpiece. The designed mechanical press aims to address market demands and industrial requirements while also fulfilling research needs. By localizing production, this initiative can create job opportunities, reduce unemployment, and lower costs. Compared to imported presses priced around $3,000, the locally fabricated press is more affordable at approximately $1,000. |
