| Abstract: As decentralized renewable energy systems, including off-grid and microgrid setups, become increasingly integral to sustainable development, ensuring their cybersecurity is paramount. This article explores the essential role of cybersecurity in enhancing the reliability and security of these systems. Through a review of recent literature, the study identifies unique cybersecurity challenges associated with decentralized energy networks and the limitations of traditional centralized security models. It emphasizes the need for advanced cybersecurity frameworks, such as peer-to-peer (P2P) models, intrusion detection systems, and data protection measures, to safeguard these systems from cyber threats. By implementing robust security measures, the continuous and reliable operation of renewable energy solutions is ensured, supporting the broader goals of sustainability.
