| Abstract: Flooding is still a very hot issue in Indonesia, especially in DKI Jakarta. Flood disasters have a very detrimental impact on society, not only material losses, floods can also result in fatalities. There are several main factors causing floods in Jakarta, namely, extreme rainfall caused by drastic climate change in the tropics and also the lack of flood prevention facilities. The handling of the flood problem in Indonesia continues to be updated but never shows significant results. The problem of flooding in Jakarta is no longer a matter of routine but the risk of climate change which is affected by the destruction of nature. The problem of flooding must be addressed thoroughly and become a priority because it is a long-term disaster. It was interesting to the author to conduct research aimed at identifying and knowing the causes and mitigation of floods in Jakarta. The data collection method used in this study is filling out a questionnaire through Google Form. With research subjects 44 residents spread throughout the DKI Jakarta area. Based on the results of the study, the main factors causing floods are high rainfall, overflow of river water, lack of catchment areas, problems with drainage channels, and the curvature of the contours of Jakarta's land. Flood mitigation facilities in the index are sufficiently met where these facilities are in the form of catchment areas, culverts, dikes, and drainage or ditches. Public awareness in managing flood management facilities that already exist around the residential area is an important role in preventing floods, so that the facilities will always be properly maintained and function optimally. |
