Article Title: Development and Performance Evaluation of Adjustable Metal Chips Picker for Use in Milling Machine
by Prof. F. A. Adamu, A. H. Halilu and B.G. Jahu

Abstract:
Invention does occur in scientific and engineering researches, this usually forms the basis for re – introduction of new technology. The development and performance evaluation of an adjustable metal chips picker was conducted based on 50 existing Anuda milling machine model Gx 160 using gasoline 168F engines, used for grinding agricultural produce such as legumes and cereals. The grinding mechanism with time worn out into the grinded produce . The design parameters include length, thickness, adjustable device and magnetic rods incorporation into the device. The adjustable metal chips picker was constructed and performance evaluated. The result shows that for every 10 kg of maize grinded within four weeks, the total chips recovered from the grinded maize powder was 0.07 kg. Issues on grinding mills with relationship with food consumed were discussed.
