| Abstract: An estimation of Ultraviolet Index UVI from global solar irradiance GSI in Sokoto, Centre for Energy Research, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto Nigeria using pyranometerCPM11 on a horizontal surface based on a single parameter were Investigated. In this work, five days of global solar irradiance data were used to estimate the UVI, the low values ranges from 1-2, and the extreme values were 11-14 UVI observed at early hours 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:00-2:00pm respectively. The results of calculations are compared well with the UVI derived from erythemal ultraviolet EUV irradiance Samuiisland and Phuket Island in Thailand. |
