| Abstract: The existence of Bernard's instability in a rarefied gas heated from below and rotated under the action of a constant magnetic field is investigated. We have used the compressible Navier-Stokes equations and slip boundary conditions together with the general differential approximation for radiation to examine the length of flow. The sensitivity of flow to Knudsen number taken as 0.1 and modified Froude number as 0.2 is tested. It is noted that an increase in the magnetic parameter M2 shows a sign of instability in the flow variables, even for slow or fast rotation. The work is aimed at explaining the problem of rarefied gas governed by the Boltzmann equation including higher order contributors in Knudsen number and magnetic field. This could find applications in many astrophysical environments where accreting plasmas are trapped in magnetic field |
