| Abstract: This research was design to assess the possibility of producing emollient body cream from Ximenia americana seed oil. The percentage yield of the extracted oil from Ximenia americana seed was 44.04 % and the analysis carried out on the produced cream shows that it has density (0.9174), pH (7.81), specific gravity (0.9205) and ascorbic acid content (4.44%). These values were compared with the values of other marketed creams (skin white, skin light and easy white) and it was found out that the produced body cream from Ximenia americana seed oil is the best among them. Therefore, this research gives the potentials of unique compositions on Ximenia americana seed oil, which makes it a suitable raw material for use in this application. |
