| Abstract: The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of entrepreneurship capital on economic performance at the macroeconomic level. Our empirical study was conducted on a sample of 16 countries of MENA region covering the period from 1995 to 2009. Referring to the dynamic panel model (GMM method) which highlights the contribution of entrepreneurship capital on GDP growth rate of MENA region, our econometric results reveal on the one hand that entrepreneurship capital measured in terms of startup rate positively affects and boosts the economic performance, it is a significant and important factor which provides the productivity growth in long term of primary factors and on the other hand that innovation factor measured in term of share expenditure on research and development does not have a determinant impact on economic performance in these countries. This result is due to the low level of investments and expenditures on research and development devoted in these countries. |
