| Abstract: This paper reviewed the distortions in the formulation and implementation of the Nigerian National Policy on Education in Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State. The population of this study consisted of all the 371 headmasters and headmistress in the 371 public primary schools in Delta Central Senatorial District of Delta State. A sample size of 94 headmaster/headmistress was drawn using the stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected and analysed using the pearson product moment correlation coefficient (r), conducted at 0.05 level of significance. The findings revealed that there is no significant relationship in the rating of headmasters and headmistress on educational policies and programmes implementation. It also showed that there is no significant relationship in the ratings of headmasters and headmistress on the factors that influence educational policies and programme implementation. The paper recommends amongst others that political office holders should stop playing politics with education by ensuring that educational policies are effectively and efficiently implemented. |
