| Abstract: Capacity building is pivotal to driving effective library and information services delivery. The study realizing this, attempted an assessment of the level and nature of capacity building and its correlation with information services delivery in a Federal University of Technology, Nigeria. A descriptive survey method was employed for the conduct of the study. A purposive sampling method was employed for the conduct of the study. A purposive sampling method was used to select all the library professionals and paraprofessionals who are majorly saddled with the responsibility of discharging the core professional services within the library. A questionnaire titled “Capacity Building and Library and Information Service Delivery Questionnaire” was designed as a data gathering instrument and descriptive statistics like mean, chi-square and percentages were adopted to analyse the data collected.. The result indicated that staff development and training significantly correlated with library and information services delivery. It was, therefore, recommended that institutions and organisations, particularly the Federal University of Technology, Akure should pay more attention to the issue of capacity building by encouraging staff to further their education, attend seminars conferences and workshops.
