| Abstract: The study examined how students of Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Rivers State through exposure on entrepreneurship skills acquisition can acquire employable skills to become self-reliant and also attain sustainable development goals (SDG). To obtain data for the study 250 respondents were randomly selected from a population of 316 Business Education, Final year students of the Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) students in 2016/2017 academic session. A structured questionnaire with 18 items was used to collect data required for the analysis. Three research questions and three hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Person product moment correlation coefficient (PPMC) was used to test the null hypotheses. The findings of the study indicate that a positive relationship exists between business Education student’s entrepreneurship skills acquisition and student’s employability and self- reliance. This means that the more positive the students the higher the level of their independence and their attainment of sustainable development goals. In view of the findings the researchers recommends that entrepreneurship education should be given on important place in our higher institutions, while school curriculum should reflect the innovations and ideals of what the society requires for sustainable development. |
