Article Title: Trumpism in Donald Trump's Inaugural Address: A Study from Critical Discourse Analysis
by Md. Morshedul Alam

Abstract:
This paper is an attempt to analyze Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address in 2017 [1] from the lens of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), delivered as the 45th president of America at Capitol Hall, Washington, D. C. In his historical speech, Trump proclaims his policies and guidelines about domestic and international issues towards the American people. Though it is an inaugural address, it is embedded with linguistic, literary, political, religious, philosophic, socio-cultural, and socio-economic elements. In this address, he tries to manifest his dream and meet audiences’ demands and feelings. This paper will investigate his inaugural address from [2] Discourse Historical Approach (DHA) by using discursive strategies (nomination and predication). In conducting the research, this paper explores books, articles, and newspapers on Trump’s speeches in general and inaugural speech in particular. This paper identifies the political agenda of Trump (Trumpism) by his populist and nationalist views in his inaugural address. The main goal of this paper is to examine Trump’s populist and nationalist panorama through the theoretical framework of Wodak’s DHA. This paper will help the educators and researchers to analyze methodically and theoretically any historical speech and events from CDA.
