| Abstract: The background information for this work were obtained from the secondary sources. e .g: texts, journals, magazines, newspapers etc. The paper looks at how Research and Development ventures have been practised and perfected by the industrialised countries E.g. U.S.A & Malaysia.. The paper examines (a) American, Bell Telephone Laboratory (BTL), Silicon Valley, Incubator of High technology, Stanford Industrial Park, Research Triangle Park, Rensselaer Technology Park, etc. (b) Malaysia Entrepreneurship programmes with a view to highlight the importance and the essence of these instruments in their area, of converting good ideas into successful businesses, research parks, business tenants employing thousands of workers. Having thoroughly examined the above issues, and since it has been acknowledged that skill acquisition is a determinant of entrepreneurship knowledge, hence, an entrepreneurship course curriculum based on twin approach(the practical content and the theoretical content) being put forward for an effective impartation of entrepreneurship knowledge to Nigerian university undergraduates. Reference was made in table 1 regarding academic qualifications of managerial staff in small-scale metal fabricating enterprises in Oyo State. A typical entrepreneurship course tables are included. In conclusion, Benefits of industrial placements (12 and 6 months) and comparative advantage of the new system of 12 months to the old system of 6 months was highlighted, also requires the NUC for a relevant regulation or policy that could assist the private universities in the area of the calibre of academic lecturers needed to impact and inculcate the necessary academic entrepreneurship training. |
