| Abstract: The rapid pace of technological advancement and the interconnected nature of our world necessitate a paradigm shift in physics education. Equipping students with foundational physics knowledge is no longer sufficient. Today's physics teachers must empower their students with the critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and global awareness necessary to navigate the complexities of the 21st century. This paper delves into the transformative potential of digital pedagogies in physics teacher development. We explore how strategically integrating technology with sound pedagogical practices can equip physics educators with the tools and strategies to cultivate these crucial competencies in their students. By harnessing the power of digital simulations, interactive visualizations, and online collaborative platforms, physics teachers can create dynamic learning environments that foster critical analysis of scientific concepts. Students can engage in problem-solving exercises that transcend geographical boundaries, collaborating with peers from around the world to tackle real-world physics challenges. Furthermore, digital tools can facilitate the exploration of global issues with a physics lens, such as sustainable energy solutions or the impact of climate change. This fosters a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of physics principles and global challenges, inspiring a generation of responsible global citizens. In essence, this paper argues that digital pedagogies, when thoughtfully integrated with effective teaching strategies, hold immense promise for nurturing a generation of future-ready physics students equipped with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to contribute meaningfully to global knowledge, advancement, and sustainability. |
